The coach work was constructed from Queensland Kauri, North American Ash, Queensland Maple, and Cedar. The mudguards are laminated from veneer.

The coach work and mudguards fitted to 45 SC were designed and built by us, after Ivan Evenden's design for the coach work fitted to 10 EX the first prototype Phantom 1. The original body fitted to 10 EX was altered early in the car's life, and as far as we know no photographs of it have survived.
